Taurus: Strong and beautiful bulls
Contemplating on taurus signs and taurus season
I sit here writing in a coffee shop overlooking a glittery millennial city at a distance and a gorgeous fairy light canopy right outside the french window. I am met with a vision everytime I look outside, a red marker scribbled on this glass window which says “how do you express yourself without words”.
And I think, okay, this is the perfect Venusian spot to sit down and write the Taurus substack.
Taurus rules the throat in astro anatomy. And we need to remember that Taurus is NOT ruled by mercury. It is ruled by the planet of love and beauty, Venus. So naturally, it makes sense for Taurus to not speak with words. In fact, most of the Taurus men and women really struggle with choosing the right words. They risk to come across as too blunt or too reserved. There is a certain quietness with a Taurus. The kind of quiet someone like me who’s a mercury ruled girl, is unfamiliar with. The silence is eerie for mercuries and yet that’s exactly what Taurus provides. I am never short of words honestly. There is always something to say on something. But with a Taurus, it feels like my words are void. They have no use. I can throw my entire encyclopedia in the trash and Taurus won’t blink.
Does that mean Taurus doesn’t care about expression and communication? Nah. They do. Taurus are some of the most creatively expressed signs in the zodiac. But it’s a Venus ruled sign. They don’t say “i love you”. They show you they love you and show in the most beautiful visceral way. The thing is, it’s art. And we can miss out on art and beauty in this cerebral world. We are too disconnected from our sensual nature. We are living in our minds and not in our bodies. Everytime a Taurus crosses your path, they show and remind you how alive it feels when you choose to exit the mind.
That’s why Taurus says - I don’t need words to express myself.
And we ask, but how do you express yourself without words?
And they say you will know when you’re here, alive, breathing in your body. You will know when you stop knitting endless stories in your mind and experience this moment right here.
Taurus pleasure is experiential. It is here, now.
Taurus is not complicated. It’s an earth sign symbolized by the peace loving bulls. It is rooted and grounded. You get what you see with a Taurus- and yet we all have said at some point that we just don’t get the Taurus. Maybe we don’t get what they are saying. Maybe we are too focused on the words and too detached from their expression.
Taurus is expressive. When you’re with a Taurus, in that very moment, you will never feel confused about how they feel about you. You can see right through them simply by how they smile and move and look at you. There is a visceral sense of safety and guardedness that you feel when they like you. When they don’t, you will feel that too. We say Taurus doesn't talk, but the thing is, we don’t listen when they do. We are too busy decoding the mind and trying to read between the lines, when Taurus doesn't even know how to sugarcoat between the lines. It is what it is.
Taurus’ gift is the sensual visceral expression that it opens for humanity.
A conversation that I am delighted about opening up more and more in the spiritual and healing spaces, is this. We are creating more gentle, self loving spaces to breathe, to dance and, to nourish our physical bodies instead of staying stuck in detangling the behavioral patterns and escaping in the ethereal. We are landing in our bodies and understanding the healing power of soft and slow living to heal our trauma, pain, and overstimulated nervous systems. We are coming back to our bodies, in spite of the boredom of our minds or the dangers of reality checks and emotional overwhelm. We do not know yet when will we entirely arrive to this sensual body awareness but we are becoming courageous to choose to land here - and that’s some delicious news :)
So I kinda met with the Tauruean urgency to rest and recoup after having the most exhausting workdays and perhaps going a little overboard with that Aries fire. Hence the delay in this Taurus substack. But I am back after a full week of deep rest and nourishment feeling held and safe in my body, right when Venus enters Taurus. I am back here with new expansive perspectives and downloads, exactly the ones I needed to write this substack. Naturally, Taurus rules the 9th house of beliefs and mindset for me. As much as I love the safety and beauty of Taurus, it’s always a breakthrough to cross paths with the Tauruean energy. The Taurus Season is beautiful when I open myself to change and evolve, but pretty hard when I stay stuck and stubborn in my belief systems. Stubborn.
That is also the bull. That is also the Taurus which sometimes can get stuck in loops of stubbornness. Wherever we have Taurus in our chart is where we find safety and security. For me, my knowledge and my beliefs give me that security net. But just like moon, everything has light and shadow. That same safety and security when clinged on too tightly becomes stubbornness. This stubbornness is what can keep Taurus stuck for ages. It takes a while for the bull to move. For sure, the bull is not here to swim and change directions quickly likes fishes in water. It is suppose to be slow and build stack-on-stack because it is here to build long-lasting structures...
But there would be moments in life, at least once or twice, when the bull needs to change its direction.
When that moment arrives, it can be hard for Taurus to even recognize that they are in fact, too stubborn for their own good.
When I cling on to ‘what I know to be true’ too tightly, I get stuck and stagnant. I hinder my own evolution and my own growth. I am not here to stay stuck with my beliefs. I am here as an eternal student who continuously learns and evolves her beliefs with those learnings. For sure, our belief systems give us secure foundations to build on, but when we see that we want to build something new and different - the foundations have to be shaken up. The belief systems have to be rewired. I have been experiencing this rewiring in my core beliefs since 2019 ever since Uranus, the planet of change and revolution, has moved into the sign of Taurus. My beliefs have been questioned, prodded and poked. Chances are, you too would have been experiencing this discomfort of having to face your stubborness and change a part of you or your life since 2019 depending on where you have Taurus in your chart. Uranus is here till 2026 and it promises to change the most stubborn parts of us. Is it easy? Noway! Ask any Taurus right now how easy this change has been? But worth it? Ask any Taurus right now if it has been anything but a life altering experience!
As I said, the Tauruean parts of us are inbuilt for long-lasting sustainable structures.
They give us the safety and security.
But once in a while, even the most solid structures need to go through repairs and renovations, if we want to move with the times and build something valuable and even more long-lasting than ever before.
What parts of you have felt like your safety and security have been attacked?
For me its been my belief system with 9th House Taurus. I used to think a particular way and it brought me the safety to think like that. Over a period of time I realized, just because it is helping me to survive, it’s not necessarily helping me to thrive and flourish.
I have been deconstructing the foundations since 2019 to align with who I am now and what I want and desire from life now. Oh yes, it’s been super hard work. My idea of safety was temporarily shaken up and I felt insecure and unsafe unlike I have ever felt before. It got me searching and gathering immense wisdom and resources around healing anxiety, managing fears, and transforming my limiting belief systems.
This is how relevant the Taurean energy is in our lives providing us the bedrock of safety and security wherever it is placed in our chart.
When this core safety is attacked, anyone runs to save themselves - even in directions they never thought they would or could. Spirituality and mindset work had little to no place in my life before this period. This Taurus transit has activated the eternal student and teacher in me.
The thing is, towards 2019 when I had started my tarot business, I realized that I have certain big visions and dreams for my life. When I went on to manifest them in form, I realized those visions hardly match the belief systems I have held. My family and my society built my belief systems to create and manifest what *they* thought was important and good for me. This was a spiritual (and a pretty rude) wake-up call for deconditioning - which obviously made me ask, okay then who am *I* and what do *I* want? Of course, that’s exactly when my authentic blueprints of astrology & human design showed up to light up my path.
My life at the moment doesn’t look how I was brought up to have it look like. Nothing has worked according to the plan. And I thank god every day for it!
The number of Nos in just the last four years surpasses those of my entire lifetime.
This is the kind of Taurus stubbornness I am grateful for.
I was a yes girl. I was always a Yes girl. The Taurus energy has introduced me to NO. The Taurus energy has taught me to stay ardently faithful to my visions and dreams irrespective of what people think or say. I saw the possibility to say - I don’t want this. I want that. This is not who I was. I was a people pleaser. I only knew how to sacrifice myself for someone’s temporary validation and approval. I really thought that was the ‘correct’ way. This is how it ‘should be’. As I said, my notions of correct and incorrect have gone through a wringer. But sometimes, they need to. As much difficult that journey maybe, it’s required.
A Taurus will activate this profound love and respect for yourself foremost.
This is the divine role of Venus.
In their authenticity, Taurus prioritizes themselves because they know what it takes to be a provider, to be a loyalist and to be deeply committed to the structures they build. They believe in the abundance of time and wealth. They celebrate the pleasure of indulgence in life’s fruits.
I have a Taurus-rising Dad and he is the epitome of devotion for his family. But does that mean he ignores his health, his vitality, his routines or even his pleasures? No!
I have heard my parents buying a 4k oven on a salary of 15k because they loved baking exotic things together. I have seen him wearing the finest of shirts ever since I opened my eyes (which I love stealing hehe!). Growing up, there was not a single weekend we stayed at home and not indulged in some beautiful dining experience. In fact, to date I have more luxy, relaxing, chillout travel memories with Dad than by myself. It’s not because he came from old money. Hardly at all. He worked for it in true Taurus fashion and showed not just to us but to his entire family back home what 0 to 100 looks like. You will often find him excusing himself from late-night get-togethers because he *adores* his 8-hour sleep and he needs to get up early for his **self care morning routine**. He is picky with what he eats, or doesn’t eat. He likes to look good and takes his grooming very seriously. He doesn’t care if people call him selfish or arrogant.
To him, there are some things that are absolute non-negotiables. In fact, my cousin was quoting my father the other day how he says “nomatter what, our standards shouldn’t be compromised ever”. And having seen him through his second saturn return up until recently, bingo! They never have.
This is such a hard lesson to get by for someone like me who has more water and air mutability in my chart than a fixed earth energy. For me I am just a girl dabbling with her emotions and money and adult life problems wondering how Daddy does it all the time.
He is as loyal to himself as he is to us. He is as indulgent for himself as he is for all of us. Or perhaps, this is why he is able to be loyal and giving and devoted to us because he knows how to fill his cup first. This is practicality at its best. This is not philosophy nor a belief. This is the core practical awareness of knowing what it takes to provide and build for more than a lifetime. This is the abundant belief in ever providing wealth of the Universe. And Taurus, for one, knows.
