Letting go, Detoxing and Making Space with Saturn
What are you detoxing, and what are you re-building with Saturn transits
The past few weeks I have come across an overwhelming amount of people and posts committing to detoxing, cleansing, and, making space - including me. Of course it was Virgo season and Mercury in Virgo was hyping us all to clean up real good. It’s important to remember however that not all clean-ups look physical. While a physical clean-up adds to the flavor, the truth is, that we are all on our specific assignments of detoxing atm.
Listen, Saturn entered the watery sign of Pisces last year in March (2023). Saturn is a heavy and dense planet, so when it enters the ocean, there’s heavy chaos and disruption. Imagine a huge celestial body falling into a vast water body - thudd! Spillage, tsunami, overflow - yes, exactly that. I can speak for myself, someone with Sun and Mercury, both in Pisces 7th house, it shook me physically and mentally. Sun rules our identity and Mercury our communication and thinking - both of which have gone through a wringer in the last one and a half years. I talked about my identity crisis (shift) in this article, my expression journey on socials, and some more of my experience with saturn in this one back in the pisces season earlier this year.
Throughout Saturn in Pisces, my anxiety has been through the roof and my inner critic has been at its loudest. I drew the curtain on my old business Instagram account and my identity as the founder of dream life lounge’, one I had nurtured for 6 years. My website domain changed to shivanib.co. I committed to expressing myself through Substack just last September. Lately, I have also paused 1:1 sessions to make way for something more satisfying to my soul. Saturn transiting through the 7th house has made me super aware about my personal relationship needs and how every bit of that energy I threw around in connections and bonds that didn’t nurture me back all my life has left me empty. During this transit, I also struggled a lot with the most personal relationships of my life and critically questioned each one of them, yes, including my Mom, Dad and my sister! Wherever Saturn cruises, it gives you a pair of critical lens to look at things so that you can decipher and dissect the truth. Saturn wants to shake things up for you so that only the truth, the long-lasting solid committed truth, and legacy remains.
What leaves, leaves. What stays, stays.
Saturn will break it (you) and then it will rebuild it (you). But this time, on something much stronger, committed and long-lasting.
If you deeply desire to invite something in life, you have to make space for it.
Since my Saturn return days, my Capricorn mentor and sister from another part of the world have been whispering in my ears “If you deeply desire to invite something in life, you have to make space for it.”
When our systems are full to the brim, overwhelmed, and plugged into one thing - we do not have space for another. Those who have an undefined spleen in their Human design would correlate to this even more since we have a knack for holding onto things that have expired their time and before we know it, our energy is zapped out. What is Human design if not a tool for energy management? (Hit this, to get your beginner’s friendly HD reading inbox’d!).
Saturn is here to clear everything that clogs this energy. Saturn is here to make space in your life, one area at a time. Time, ha! Saturn is here to remind you that life is too short to waste your sacred energy on things, people, and situations that don’t feel true to your heart and soul.
Socially, we have a very notorious association with Saturn seeing it as a planet of delay, obstruction, limitations, and well, a planet too brooding, too serious. But guess what? Sometimes we humans need humbling help from the planets to come back to our tracks. After all, this earth is one giant amusement park filled with temptations and distractions. To be honest, there is no one who doesn’t thank Saturn everytime its transit gets over in one of their signs. You know the times we say, ‘Thank God it didn’t work out”. “Thank God for those big lessons!” “Thank God, dodged a bullet!!”
That’s Saturn delaying, obstructing, and limiting you for a brief moment, very much like how we see a black cat crossing our paths as a sign from the gods to pause for a moment to delay an accident or an unfortunate incident. Neither the black cat nor the Saturn are bad, unlucky, or misfortunate. On the contrary, they are saving you when you look at the bigger picture.
Saturn looks at the bigger picture. This is why Saturn correlates to karmic ties, karmic legacy, and karmic debts. Imagine yourself zoomed at a particular juncture of your timeline but Saturn is standing back to look at your timeline across past, present, and future. It sees what our limited minds cannot comprehend logically. This is why trust is such a key when we work with Saturn placements or Saturn transits.
Let’s have a breakdown of what Saturn transit detoxes and cleanses throughout the houses.
Saturn transits are all about detoxing stagnant, old, outdated habits and building new, healthy, and updated ones. It asks us to eliminate what is no longer useful, forcing us to face reality and make the needed adjustments. This is how you become committed, responsible, and mature in the process. After this detox, Saturn helps us rebuild those areas of life in a stronger, and more sustainable way.
Have a peek at your chart for this - if you don’t already have your astrology chart, go to astro.com, generate your free natal chart (I prefer whole house system), click on +transits. When Saturn transits through your personal planets, that is, the house or sign you have Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars in, the Saturn transits can feel extra rough. After all, Saturn is sky daddy and it does nothing less than tough love. Saturn will teach us and give lessons on what our Dads probably missed out on with respect to the themes of these planets.
As Saturn is currently transiting Pisces (March 2023 to May 2025 and then again Aug ’2025 to February 13, 2026), so if you or someone you know has these planets in the sign of Pisces right now, especially planets in the later degrees, please be extra gentle with them. (Read this article if you want to learn how to support your people). Saturn truly doesn’t bulls**t and can very potently turn your life upside down. There can be feelings of anxiety, stress, and burdened during these times. Many can also experience this manifesting in the physical through cardiovascular issues, bone and joint issues, as well as skin problems. Of course, while the transit will take its own time to do what it is here to do, please stay open to consult a physical, mental health or spiritual practitioner of your choice to support the process. I shared my experience through this Saturnian process since last year in an Instagram post recently.

I am curious, where are you at the moment? Is Saturn breaking something right now, or re-building? Maybe it is something happening simultaneously. I can speak for myself how every day of Saturn transiting my 7th house feels like both happening at the same time. I go from, “relationships are too much” to “relationships are exactly what I live for” all on the same day, same week. So far, Saturn has successfully reminded me how sacred these personal connections, deep real communication and authenticity in them are for me and that when I avoid or run away from these, I am avoiding my own self, and my own heart. What about you? What is Saturn clearing up —- and making space for what?
